The Surgeon

A father and his son were driving together in a car when disaster struck in the form of head on collision with another vehicle. A crowd quickly gathered, and the paramedics were called, but despite all their efforts, the father died. His son, on the other hand, survived the crash, but suffered very critical massive internal injuries. As quickly as possible, he was rushed to the hospital, and into the Emergency Operating Room.

As the nurses prepared the boy for surgery, the surgeon on call quickly hastened to the room and approached the boy. After seeing the boy's face, the surgeon was overcome with grief, and stated "I can't operate on this boy. He is my son."

How can this be?
